Events in Dubrovnik
Throughout the whole year Dubrovnik hosts numerous chamber ensembles and concerts with world's famous soloists and conductors.
In the honor of the city's guardian, St. Blaise (Sveti Vlaho), the Celebration is held each year at the beginning of month of February. The Celebration is followed by the musical event called "Festa Dubrovnik" with the performance of the renowned Croatian and local musical artists. After the St. Blaise Celebration, it starts a carnival time which lasts until the start of Lent.
The most important cultural event in Dubrovnik is Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Open-air theater plays, concerts and other cultural happenings with performances by world's renowned names (theater, film and music), lasts 45 days in a row.
On Sunday mornings during the summer months, numerous folklore and musical ensembles perform in front of the St. Blaise's Church and in that way introduce tourists with the rich Croatian tradition.
During the winter time, guests can visit numerous Dubrovnik art museums and galleries and become familiar with the work of old masters and young local artists as well.
During Dubrovnik Winter Festival, experience Advent in Dubrovnik filled with its rich gastronomic and entertainment program. For its youngest guests and citizens, Dubrovnik prepared Children's Winter Festival "Orlandino". Christmas and New Year's holidays are filled with traditional Christmas carols throughout the streets. New Year's Eve organized on famous street Stradun is a worthwhile visit.
