杜布罗夫尼克夏季文化活动节最初成立于1950年代初，当时整个欧洲都兴起了许多戏剧和音乐活动，不仅在杜布罗夫尼克也覆盖到了克罗地亚全国，直到今天，这一直是广式大众喜爱的重要一种文化活动和节日。每年的7月10日至8月25日，各类文化活动会在杜布罗夫尼克的街道上、广场上和宫殿内如期举行，并在该年度的其他时间里，也会举行各种活动。
